Hence, when you get the window handle in order to show it again, it doesn't have one, and returns a null value. When you try to ShowWindow with a null handle, it (predictably enough) doesn't do anything at Python for Window Extensions. Python extensions for Microsoft Windows Provides access to much of the Win32 API, the ability to create and use COM objects, and the Pythonwin environment. def raise_mpv(): # This workaround is madness.
